About Me
My name is Kim and I am a thirty-seven year old wife and homeschooling mother to five children. I’ve been married to the infamous Mr. K who prays daily to a God he doesn’t believe in that I won’t write anything too embarrassing about him or our life together on my blog. I love Jesus. I love sex (with my husband). I love food too which is why I am fat. If I could have sex every time I went to eat for all the wrong reasons I would be really skinny. I believe it is God’s cruel joke that he gave me the talent to be an incredible cook with a horrible metabolism.
Besides being a wife and a mother, I am also an Event Planner and Social Media Maven for Fresh Air Family, Inc. a non-profit organization in the state of Alabama. Our mission is to get people outdoors into nature, do environmental education, and encourage healthy lifestyles. And yes, I would be the poster child for the organization I work for because before taking this job I spent the majority of my free time holding the couch down with a computer screen in front of my face. In the past ten months I have walked over 130 miles in the woods, kayaked, canoed, over come my fear of birds, and played with snakes. If that wasn’t enough I also belong to a volunteer group that supports single women with children who have fallen through the cracks.
I could easily be described as a jane-of-all-trades but master of none. I cook, sew, scrapbook, and can do crafty things. I am handier with tools than my husband, but please don’t tell him I told you that. I dream of the day when I can spend my time working on hobbies and sitting down with a good book without having to get up and wipe snotty noses or dirty butts. But don’t get me wrong, I love my kids and there was nothing I wanted more in this life than to be a parent. I am passionate about homeschooling and I am dedicated to sharing our journey through homeschooling our five children on this blog in 2011/2012. I currently am one of the co-hosts for Homeschool Chat #hschat on Twitter.

Here at Beautiful Wreck, I keep it real. I talk about everything, including things that may make you uncomfortable. I am the person that Glenn Beck tells people to avoid. I am a Social Justice Christian and a liberal. I have a special place in my heart for the members of the gay, lesbian and bisexual community and I blog often on the subject. Even though I strive to follow the path of Jesus Christ, my journey and beliefs may be polar opposite from your beliefs or what you have been taught if you are a Christian. Luckily for me my relationship is with Him and not anyone else.
Keep in mind I’m loud and bossy and prone to crazy. I believe that using profanity is an art form. So if you are opposed to crude language this may not be the blog for you to read. I keep this blog real and I’m not perfect. O, and I also talk about sex.
